Peggy Jean Talley Verplank, 72

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Peggy Jean Talley Verplank, 72, was born Sept. 25, 1950 and died suddenly Sept. 11, 2023 at her residence.

A retired office administrator, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Thelma Jones Talley. She was married to Tom Verplank on April 12, 1980 who preceded her in death on April 2, 2018. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Wayne and Charles Talley. 

Mrs. Verplank is survived by children, Christopher (Karen) Young and Jason Lane (Jennifer) Pedigo, both of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Amanda (Joel) Peckman, Kelsey (Brian) Smith, Noah Lane (Brittany) Pedigo, Collin Pedigo and Casen Pedigo; five great-grandchildren, Soren, Christoph and Miri Peckman, Lincoln Smith and Riley Lane Pedigo; sisters, Shirley Ware and Brenda (Hal) Wanamaker, both of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023 at Faulkner Cemetery at Pike Hill in Warren County. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. No visitation will be held at High’s on Wednesday. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
