Morrison resident and Grundy County native Peggy Ann Winton, 74, was born April 19, 1937 and died Nov. 20 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester following a short illness.A homemaker, she was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and attended Hubbard’s Cove Church of God. Mrs. Winton was the daughter of Louella McGee Rains of Oak Ridge, and the late Charles Rains. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Bass and Samuel Woodrow Winton; daughter, Jammie Bass and several aunts and uncles.In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Eddie Caldwell of Jasper, Midge and Mike Henegar of the Pocahontas community and Debbie and Kevin Furgerson of League City, Texas; grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Adriene Dyer of Whitwell, Michael Dyer of Sequatchie, Dana and Tony Lolas of Nashville, and Michael and Matthew Henegar of the Pocahontas community; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Connie Rains of Oak Ridge; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Bob Beeler of Oliver Springs, and special friend Jane Winton.Funeral service was held Tuesday in High’s Chapel with Kenneth Rains and Clayton Jones officiating.
