Peggy Ann Carter, 75, of McMinnville died Friday, Sept. 12, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born May 7, 1939 in Hampton, Va., and was the daugh-ter of the late Clarence Melson and the late Daisy (Abdell) Melson.She was a retired factory worker from A.O. Smith for 32 years. She was a member of Sink Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Smithville.Surviving are daughters, Teresa A. McCormick and hus-band Chris of McMinnville, Tammy M. Coppinger and hus-band Tim of McMinnville, Brenda F. Carter and husband Eddie of Quinton, Va., and Patricia Ann Tilson and husband Ricky of Newport News, Va.; brother, Edward Melson and wife Linda of Hampton, Va., sister, Elizabeth Jenkins of Hampton, Va..; special friend Bobby Stoner Sr., of McMinnville; son-in-law, Lorne Wetsel of McMinnville, 11 grandchildren; Earl Lee and Christopher Wetsel, Wesley and Tiffany Ross, Riley and Ryan McCormick, Nathan and Justin Carter, Lindsay Waldrop, Ian and Heather Tilson, nine great-grandchildren.
