Pearlie (Ozene) Malone, 89, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., died Wednesday, April 27 at Wood Dale Health Care Center in Dalton, Ga., after an extended illness. She was born in Smithville on Nov. 6, 1921, the daughter of the late Madison and Exie Cope.She was the widow of Billie John Malone of Tunnel Hill, Ga. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church.She is survived by son, Joe B. and wife Dwana Malone of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; two brothers and their families, Armond Cope of Sparta, and Ray Cope of McMinnville; one sister-in-law, Ola Brown Cope of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Skyler and Virginia Ellis of Liberty, grandchildren, Tatum and husband Graham Williams, Taylor Malone, Tessa Malone; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Ethan Williams, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of family and friends.She was preceded in death by husband, Billie John Malone, parents, Madison and Exie Cope, three brothers, Anthony, Haston, and Henry, and five sisters, Dorothy, Goldie, Ressie, Vella, and Versie.Funeral service was held Friday with Dr. Rev. Mike Shearon officiating. Interment followed at Whorton Springs Cemetery in Smithville.
