Pearl Elrod St. John, 99, a Warren County resident and native, was born April 1, 1919 and passed away Dec. 18 at St. Thomas West Hospital following a brief illness.

She was a retired employee of Dairy Queen, retired cafeteria worker at Warren County Senior High and retired from the Department of Human Services, a member of East End Church of Christ and daughter of the late Charlie Celmer and Bertha Watson Elrod. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Goodloe St. John; daughter Sandra Jones; brothers Jim, Johnny and Sam Elrod; and sisters Willie Davenport, Virgie Smith and Bonnie Jarrell.

Mrs. St. John is survived by daughter Brenda St. John of McMinnville; three grandchildren Stephen Jones of Nashville, Michael Jones of Murfreesboro, and Patti Gauger and husband Tom of McMinnville; great-grandson, Anthony Gauger; and son-in-law Douglas Jones of McMinnville.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at High’s Chapel with Kevin Key and Ray Weddington to officiate. Interment will follow at Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
