McMinnville resident and Warren County native Paul Howard Butcher Sr., 77, was born July 5, 1943 and died Aug. 30 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness.
A retired school bus driver with Warren County School System and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Clarence Mitchell and Velma May Bottoms Butcher. He was married to Carolyn Faye Farless Butcher, who preceded him in death May 28, 2014. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brother Leonard Butcher.
Mr. Butcher is survived by son Paul (Kim) Butcher of McMinnville, four grandchildren Samantha Butcher, Matthew Butcher, Brittany Smartt and Casey Smartt, all of McMinnville, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters Linda Cagle and Lois (Jimmy) Dishman, both of McMinnville, two brothers Jack Butcher and Clyde (Denise) Butcher, both of McMinnville, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Shellsford Cemetery with Bob McCoy officiating. There will be no visitation or service at High’s. Friends and family are to meet at the cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
