McMinnville resident and Warren County native Norman Lloyd Elrod, 77, was born Aug. 18, 1941 and died Jan. 8 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following a brief illness.
The retired coordinator of student services at Tennessee Technology Center of McMinnville, retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard where he served for 37 years, a member of the Church of Christ, and a charter member of the McMinnville Police Department Public Safety Unit for 15 years, he was the son of the late Albert Lloyd and Bertha Louise Blair Elrod. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Nancy Holder.
He is survived by life companion Judy Mae Rowland of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Steven L. and Mindi Elrod of Hillsboro, four grandchildren, Gabriel Elrod, Lukas Elrod, Alex Carter and Caden Carter; two brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry and Shirley Elrod of McMinnville, and Ronnie and Rhonda Elrod of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Herb Rowland of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Mt. View Cemetery with Tony Lawrence officiating. Military grave rites will be administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. There will be no visitation at High’s. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery.
