Nettie Lou Hefner, 89, a Morrison resident and Davidson County native was born Dec. 15, 1928 and died May 9, 2018 in Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro following an extended illness.

She was a homemaker, member of Morrison United Methodist Church and daughter of the late Oliver and Myrtle Lee Redmon Underhill Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Oliver Underhill Jr.

Mrs. Hefner was married Dec. 26, 1947 to Houston Hefner, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Sarajane Hefner Jr., Charles Hefner and Barbara Elrod, and John and Lynn Hefner, all of Morrison; grandchildren, Vicky and Randall Sawyer of Murfreesboro, Jake Hefner of McMinnville, Lexie, Emily and Sarah Brewer, all of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at High’s Chapel with Lanny Johnson to officiate. Interment will follow at Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at High’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fuel Program at Morrison United Methodist Church.
