Neola Faye Sharpe, 92

Smithville resident and Van Buren County native Neola Faye Sharpe, 92, was born Jan. 23, 1928 and died Dec. 29 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville due to complications from COVID-19.     

Retired and member of Madison Street Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Hassie Hillis Simons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Clifton Sharpe Jr. and nine siblings.

Mrs. Sharpe is survived by three children and spouses, Sandra and Bruce Lewis of Smithville, Larry and Linda Sharpe of Maryville, and Charles & Melissa Sharpe of Morrison, six grandchildren, Rhonda Ware, Steven Sharpe, Matt Sharpe, Angie Henry, Monica Baker, and Stefanie McFall, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service and interment was held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1 with Bro. Harlan Simmons officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Ministry or Gideon Memorial Bible Program. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
