Neeland Elwood Rogers, 87, beloved cherished husband, father, and grandfather of Indianapolis, Ind., died April 18.
He was born July 18, 1923 in Centertown to the late Sherman and Alice (Williamson) Rogers. He graduated from Shortridge High School. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving at the Battle of the Bulge under Gen. George Patton. He was a member of American Legion Post 34 and the Local Carpenters Union. He attended Epworth Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Christine (Russell) Rogers; one daughter, Deborah (Tony) Johnson; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jimmy) Collier, Michael (Heather) Powell, Brent Johnson, and Stephen Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Aspen, Chase, and Ava.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, Inc. at blindness.org.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Mount View Cemetery in McMinnville.
