Rock Island resident and Van Buren County native Nadean O'Neal, 88, was born May 12, 1925 and died May 4 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness.A librarian at Van Buren County High School, she attended Laurel Creek Baptist Church and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ida Cecile Barlow Cummings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, D.L. and Clayton Cummings.Mrs. O’Neal’s greatest pride and joy was raising her sons and watching her grandchildren grow. She was a kind, sweet, caring and amazingly strong woman with a great sense of humor.
