Myrtle Annie “Granny Myrt” Holland, 83, a McMinnville resident and Grundy County native, was born May 20, 1935 and passed away Dec. 2 at her residence following a brief illness.


She was a wife, homemaker, retired employee of Magnetek, and daughter of the late Levi and Bettie Green Morton. She was a Christian woman. Mrs. Holland was married Aug. 28, 1954 to Doris Eugene Holland, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son Roger Dale Holland; and siblings Willie Morton, Howard Morton, Fred Morton, Mary Morton Long, Asie Morton and Margie Morton Hood.


Survivors include children and spouses, Ronnie and Treva Holland, Teresa Delong, Mark Holland and Phillip and Angela Holland, all of McMinnville; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Holland, Melanie Holland King, Chris and Brent Delong, Travis Holland, Anita West, Rachael Russ, Maria Lanier, Phillip Holland Jr. and Billy Holland; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Allison, Remington, Evelyn, Audrey, Blake and Constance; several nieces and nephews; adopted daughters Alice McCormick Hobbs and Violet Hood Louria; and adopted son Randy Redford, and a host of special friends.


Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at High’s Chapel with Danny Sullivan to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
