Melvin Seals, 86

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Melvin Seals, 86, was born March 5, 1935 and died Jan. 30 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following an extended illness.

A retired heavy equipment operator with Bowater Paper Mfg. and a member of McMinnville Congregational Methodist Church, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Alma Bonner Seals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Eva Joyce Seals, daughter and son-in-law Lynne and Mike Britton, and brother Thomas Earl Seals.

Mr. Seals is survived by daughter, Melissa Tanner of Corbin, Ky., stepdaughter Debbie Keaton of McMinnville, four grandchildren, Kayla (Chris) Mullican of McMinnville, Shane Britton, Brian Britton, and Logan Phillips, all of Corbin, Ky., six great-grandchildren, Kaden, Carter and Kasen Mullican, Oliver Phillips, Brian Jones, and Ava Jones, sisters Margie (Donnie) Deweese of Dunlap, Betty Reamy and Velva Jean Deweese, both of Hixon, and Diane (Allen) Mayfield of Dunlap, TN.

Graveside service and interment was held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cagle, TN with Greg Harris and Caleb Bolton officiating. Family and friends met at the cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
