Melvin Jay Steenwyk, 83, passed away at home on Monday, March 14. 

Mel was an involved member of the community and was a Free Mason, Shriner, Honor Guard in the American Legion, and an Army veteran. Mel spent most of his life as a business salesman, and in his free time, loved to play golf and ride motorcycles. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Joyce, his sister Rose, his two sons and their wives, Darrell and Laurie and Daniel and Ruth, his four grandchildren, Zach, Hayley, Zoe and Clark and his good friend, Mark Konish.

There will be a public visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 17 at High Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
