McMinnville resident and Warren County native Melinda Ramsey Womack, 68, was born Oct. 24, 1949 and died Sept. 15, at her residence following a sudden illness.
A homemaker and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Ethel Pauline Barrett Ramsey. She was married March 16, 1968 to Samuel Evins Womack, who preceded her in death Oct. 24, 2017. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Graelyn Womack; and four brothers, Thorold, Paul, Bob and Cordell Ramsey.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Ramsey and Irish Womack of McMinnville and Landon Womack of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Bracton Womack and Lilly Womack, both of McMinnville, Tyler Womack of Cookeville, and Ansli Womack of Rock Island; two sisters, Robbie Davis of McMinnville and Wanda Dexter of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at High’s Chapel with Jackie Matheny officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
