Rock Island resident Melba G. Clendenon, 88, died Sept. 21 at Raintree Manor after an extended illness.A factory worker and a member of East End Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Alvie Clendenon and Nettie Clendenon Johnson, and was also preceded in death by stepfather Bill Johnson; brothers Jimmy, Paul and Ralph Johnson, and sister Grace Easterwood.She is survived by special cousin and caretaker Peggy Griffith, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Mt. View Cemetery with Titus Ward officiating.
