Maurine Green Rogers, 94

Hermitage resident and Warren County native Maurine Green Rogers, 94, was born Sept. 22, 1920 and died Aug. 22 at McKendree Village in Hermitage following an extended illness.
A homemaker and longtime member of Viola Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late John Freelin and Stella Webb Green. She was married Oct. 13, 1940 to J.G. Rogers who preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Sarah Davis; four brothers, Aubrey, Loyd, Ewin and Hoyte Green; and three sisters, Mary Nadine Green, Mildred Smith and Virginia Meadows.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Patrick Alexander of Hermitage and Linda and James Curtis of Mt. Juliet; three granddaughters, Carmen Alexander Jenkins, Lisa Curtis, and Christy Curtis Davis and husband Tom; three great-grandsons, Adam Jenkins, and Justin and Ryan Davis; sister, Monice Green McGiboney of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held in High’s Parlor with Steve Stubblefield officiating. Burial followed at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Coffee County. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the McKendree Village Golden Cross Fund, 4347 Lebanon Pike, Hermitage, TN 37076.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
