Maurice Elton Cope, 83, of Louisville died Monday, July 25 at Jewish Hospital.
He was an Army and Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Cope; and sister, Maui King.
He is survived by his children, Mauricea Eli (Bruce), Roy Cope, Steve Cope and Tina Abrams (Steve); grandchildren, Chris Eli, Alisha Eli, Stephen Abrams (Lis), Zackary Abrams, Jesse Abrams and Tyler Cope; great-grandchild, Max Abrams; siblings, Perry Cope (Jean) and June Bencivinni; and companion, Nella Newlin.
There will be a funeral service to honor his life at 10 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation for the public will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
