Mary Lou Cope, 84, of McMinnville died Wednesday, March 30 at her sister’s residence in Woodbury.
She was born March 7, 1932 in Cannon County and was a homemaker, and a member of Charles Creek the Baptist Church. Mrs. Cope was preceded in death by parents, Elie Alzia and Leddie May Summers Thomas; husbands, Clarence Hill, Edwin West, and Ray Cope; daughters, Linda Herrin and Brenda Bratcher; son, James Hill; sisters, Viela Estes and Gladys Hollingsworth; brothers, John, Donald, and Gene Thomas.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Eric Self, Kerry Self, Jennifer Hill, Rhiana Hill, and Monica Hill; great-grandchildren, Jessie Self, Tyler Self, Jacob Self, and Ethan Price; great-great grandchildren, Austin and Anthony Larkin; and a sister, Faye Robinson. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Nick Pelham and elder Cecil Van Winkle will officiate. Interment will follow at Charles Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
