McMinnville resident and Warren County native Mary Evelyn Winton, 79, was born June 3, 1933 and died May 9 at her residence following a brief illness.
A homemaker and a member of Christ Community Church, she was a member of the Sweet Adelines and the Barbersharps in which she sang soprano. She was a dedicated homemaker who delighted in opening her home and showing her guests genuine Southern hospitality.
She was the daughter of the late Elvin and Lucinda Bryant Spangler.
She was married to Robert E. “Bobby” Winton of McMinnville on Jan. 3, 1954. They met in 1959 at Central High School. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Dawn Winton of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Griffin, Kendall, Connor and Grace Winton; and brother, James L. Spangler of Murfreesboro.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday with Paul Roberts and Perry Cotham officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at High’s. In lieu of memorial donations, it is asked you help those around you who are in need.
