Mary Ellon Blackwell, 70, of McMinnville, formerly of White County, died Thursday, Sept. 5 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She had been a member of the Church of God since 1973 and a member of Locust Street Church of God since 1988 until her death.The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. with the funeral service Monday at 1 p.m. at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Page and Rev. Roland M. Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Old Philadelphia Cemetery, Center Point.She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Waymon Blackwell; mother Ettie Johnson of McMinnville, formerly of Walling; daughters, Phyllis Blackwell Stewart, formerly of White County, Angela Cumming, husband John Cumming IV, of Sparta; three siblings, Faye Jennings of Smithville, Roy Clinton Johnson, wife Diane, of Carthage, and Colon Johnson, wife Gloria, of Franklin, Ky.; grandchildren, John Cumming V, Kason Stewart, Joshua Cumming, Kelsey Stewart, and Justin Cumming; and great-grandchild, Elias Stewart.
