Mary Elizabeth Martin Meeks, 80

Morrison resident and Coffee County native Mary Elizabeth Martin Meeks, 80, was born Aug. 2, 1934 and died Nov. 19 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following a brief illness.
A retired employee of Carrier Corporation and a faithful member of Morrison Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Burr Hoover and Leola Mae Prater Martin.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Steve Caldwell of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Trista Gibson and husband Kenny of Murfreesboro, and Cristy and Leslie Caldwell, both of McMinnville; six great-grandchildren; brother, Joe B. Martin of McMinnville; sister, Evelyn Richardson of Murfreesboro; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Ms. Meeks was a past member of the Morrison Parliamentary Club, a volunteer at River Park Hospital for Just Friends, and a member of FCE (Vinson Crossroads Family Community Education Club).
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in High’s Chapel with Roger Comstock officiating. Burial will follow at Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
