Rock Island resident and Grundy County native Mary Darland, 70, was born Jan. 6, 1950 and died April 24 at her residence following an extended illness.

A homemaker and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Geneva Caldwell Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Eugene Dale Darland, son Eddie Adams, brothers Franklin D. Myers, Robert Myers, Carl Myers and Delvie Myers, and sisters Flossie Watts and Nadine Myers.

She is survived by son Benjamin (Kristy) Adams of McMinnville, four daughters Dorothy Lyle of Morrison, Connie Jaco of Murfreesboro, Frances Marie Adams of Watertown, and Sharon Marie “Cookie” (Henry) McGuffin of Manchester, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, three brothers Elmer Myers of Alto, Roy Myers of Estill Springs, and James Myers of Hillsboro, two sisters Patricia Thomas of Monteagle, and Ruby Myers of Hillsboro, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private graveside service and interment will be held with the family. There will be no visitation or service at High’s. Online condolences may be made to www.highfuneralhome.com.
