McMinnville resident and Kirkville, N.Y., native Mary Damon, 98, was born May 19, 1921 and died Jan. 30 at Raintree Manor following a brief illness.

An interior decorator with Onondoga Imperial, a bookkeeper with Damon Woodworks, and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Maude M. Schepp Gardner. She was married Aug. 28, 1940 to Ronald E. Damon, who preceded her in death in 2004. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Barbara Damon.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Karen and Irving Miller of Bridgeport, N.Y., two sons and daughters-in-law David and Betty Damon of Jacksonville, Fla., and Steven and Elizabeth Damon of McMinnville; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, sister Rayma Greiner of Syracuse, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Christ United Methodist Church with Mark Carrigan and Sommer Rose Worley officiating. Inurnment will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at
