Mary Bell Robinson, 94, of Smithville died Monday, Feb. 3 at Raintree Manor in McMinnville.
She was the daughter of the late Waymon E. and Julia Redmon Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, William Phillip Lee; sister, Edith Evans; brothers, Charlie, Winfred, Felix and Ed Young. She was a member of New Bildad Primitive Baptist Church and worked in housekeeping at the Methodist Publishing House and was a retired shirt factory worker.
She is survived by two children, Kenneth (Sandra) Lee and Julie VanBommel, both of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, Teresa (Greg) Lasiter, Phillip Lee, Andrea, Angelina and Melissa Farley, Joseph and Mari VanBommel; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillie Mae Lawson and Ethel (Ralph) Arnold, both of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with elder Ricky Arnold officiating with burial to follow at New Bildad Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to either New Bildad Primitive Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Ms. Mary Belle.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel of Smithville is in charge of arrangements.
