Marva Jean Hughes, 74

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Marva Jean Hughes, 74, was born Sept. 17, 1941 and died Aug.  14 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.
A retired hospital controller with Southern Tennessee Medical Center and a member of West Riverside Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Marvin and Dorothy Charlene Panter Coppinger.
She was married to her husband of 57 years, Dorris Hughes of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Glenda Hughes of McMinnville; grandson Caleb Allen Hughes of Franklin; sister Kay Grider of McMinnville; brother Terry Coppinger; sister-in-law Janet Hobbs of McMinnville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donnie and Johnnie Hughes of McMinnville; nieces and nephews David and Janet Hobbs of North Carolina, Brent and Christy Grider of Unionville, and Debbie and Ray Boren, Cindy “C.J.” Hughes, Greg Hughes, Lisa and Danny Higgins, Todd and Lynn Grider, Stephen and Tammy Hughes, Nicky and Pattie Coppinger, Scott “Bubba” Coppinger, and Teri Beth Coppinger, all of McMinnville; and cousins Roy and Tamra Hughes of McMinnville and Scott and Linda Hughes of McMinnville.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at West Riverside Church of Christ with Larry Acuff and Ray Weddington officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at High’s. Memorial donations may be made to West Riverside Church of Christ.
