McMinnville resident and Williamson County native Martha Ryan Hinkle, 89, was born August 30, 1929 and died Nov. 8 at her residence following an extended illness.


A retired bus aide and special education aide at Warren County High School and a member of Northside Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Willie Elizabeth Ryan. She was married April 2, 1949 to James Burton Hinkle, who preceded her in death Sept. 2, 2011. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister Margaret Alexander, and brother Ray Ryan.


She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James Robert Hinkle of McMinnville, Jerry Bryan and Peggy Hinkle of Henryville, Ind., and Jeffrey Dean and Teressa Hinkle of McMinnville; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother C.W. Ryan of Nashville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.


Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at High’s Chapel with Duane Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
