Marie Jeannette Moore, 83, a Rock Island resident and Painesville, Ohio native, was born Aug. 4, 1933 and died Dec. 11 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was a homemaker, member of Friendship Baptist Church and daughter of James and Leota Powell Mayor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Clarence M. Moore; grandson Vandy Fults; brothers Kenneth and James Mayor; and sisters Elsie Mayor, Charlene Lutz and Ruth Fenton.
Survivors include children and spouses, Christine Nolan of Dunlap, Teresa and Ronnie Taylor of Morrison, Maxine Pitman, Mary and Bobby Ashford, Hilda and Mike Starkey, Ann and Bill Bennett and Jill and Brent West, all of McMinnville, Kenny Moore of Spencer and Angie and Kennie Jones of Manchester; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at High’s Chapel with Steve Breedlove and Rick Lyles to officiate. Interment will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at High’s.
