Marie Barr Vinson, 86, of Smyrna died Monday, May 2 at Christian Care Center.
A native of Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Roe and Bertha Hutchings Barr.
Mrs. Vinson is survived by her husband of 60 years, Sam F. Vinson; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Gina Vinson of The Woodlands, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Pat Hilton of Jonesborough, and Pam and Dean Pearson of Murfreesboro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Barby Carroll of The Woodlands, Texas, Erma Barr of Mt. Juliet, Roena and Lonnie Fuson of McMinnville, and Christine and Lynn Bouldin of McMinnville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Hazel Barr of McMinnville, and Gene and Pat Barr of Manchester; six grandchildren, Sam (Anna Marie) Hilton of Knoxville, Brian (Morgan) Vinson of Euless, Texas, Kristin Vinson, Timothy Pearson, Andrew Pearson and Daniel Vinson; and one great-grandchild, Max Hilton.
Mrs. Vinson was a member of Life Point F.B.C. in Smyrna.
A celebration of life will be held today at 1 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Pat Hood, W.D. Thomason, and Dr. Lenny Farmer will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gideon’s International or the Arthritis Foundation.
