M.A. Papa Bouldin, Jr., 84

Campaign resident and Warren County native M.A. “Papa” Bouldin Jr., 84, was born July 23, 1929 and died Oct. 18 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following a brief illness.
Mr. Bouldin was a retired truck driver with Batesville Casket Company, retired from Eastside Market, and former owner of Rock Island Market and Campaign Market. He was a United States Army veteran of Korea and a member of Campaign Church of God of Prophecy. He was a member of the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173 and a Warren County Commissioner.
He was the son of the late M.A. and Ova Hitchcock Bouldin Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, H.B. Bouldin; and sister, Ester Bess.
He was married to his wife of 64 years, Johnnie Belle Bouldin of Campaign. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Sandra and James L. Bennett of Michie, Pamela Ratleph of Campaign, and Angela and Wayne Surles of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Greg Bennett of Michie, Michelle Froncziak of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kayla Youngblood and Brittany Holder, both of Campaign; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, John Bouldin of Rock Island; and two sisters, Dean Bouldin and Dola Searle, both of McMinnville.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in High’s Chapel with Bro. James L. Bennett, Bro. Rick Lyles and John Pelham officiating. Burial will follow at Campaign Community Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High’s.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
