Lorene Barrett, 81, died Monday, Aug. 11. She was born in Altamont on July 19, 1933 to Floyd and Ollie Faye Sanders Fitch, who preceded her in death along with her brother, Douglas Fitch.She is survived by her sons, Leonard, Hugh (Mary) and Johnny Barrett; daughters, Phyllis (Gary) Jenkins, Dresden and Nancy Judkins of Altamont; brothers, Chester (Mae) Fitch of Altamont, Wilfred (Marie) Fitch of Cohutta, Ga.; sisters, Etheleen Hobbs of Altamont, Pauline Wellman of Morrison and Cathy Bailey of Centertown; companion, Jimmy Sweeton of Altamont; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with minister Clayton Jones officiating with burial to follow at Altamont Cemetery.Layne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
