Longtime jeweler Moody Stinson dies at 81

McMinnville resident and Huntsville, Ala., native Moody Michael Stinson, 81, was born Feb. 9, 1940 and died Oct. 9 at his residence following an extended illness. 

A retired jeweler and owner of Diamond Jewelry Company, he was the son of the late Albert and Zella Pickett Stinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Allie Stinson and brother Kenneth Stinson.

Mr. Stinson was married Sept. 21, 1963 to Judy Cole Stinson of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and Teresa Stinson, David and Melanie Stinson, and Shawn Stinson, all of McMinnville, three grandchildren, Cole (Christina) Stinson, Alex Stinson and Abram Stinson, sister Jean Stinson of Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at High's Chapel with Jason Cripps officiating. Burial will follow at Faulkner Cemetery at Pike Hill. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, and 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at High's.
