Lois Ray (Big John) Chisam, 71, of McMinnville died unexpectedly Sunday, May 27 at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville.He was born in McMinnville Oct. 1, 1940, the son of the late Bessie I. (Ferrell) and James B. Chisam.He was a factory worker and was a member of the First Church of Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith.Mr. Chisam is survived by his wife, Barbara (Bouldin) Chisam of McMinnville; three daughters, Tina M., and husband Pernell Snider, of McMinnville, Melissa A., and husband Samuel McLoud, of McMinnville; Alyssa C., and husband Eddie Davis, of McMinnville; son, Johnny W., and wife Sherry Chisam, of Winchester; brother, Charles E., and wife Shirley Chisam, of McMinnville; half brother, Robert, and wife Jan Chisam, of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Amos Lee Phillips Jr. and wife Amy, Brooklyn George, Cara Chisam, Amber Davis, Billy Ray Davis, one step-granddaughter, Jessica Johnson, step-great granddaughter, Breana Vaughn; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.Funeral service will be today at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Jason Nunley and Carl Bouldin officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bybee Chapel Cemetery Rock Island. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
