Lois Irene Johnson Smith, 84, a Morrison resident and Twin Valley, Minn., native, died Oct. 15 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home following a short illness. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired employee with Carrier, member of the Morrison United Methodist Church and daughter of the late Albert Johnson and Emma Knutson Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Reed Smith; granddaughter, Laura Casteel; sisters, Eunice Hirchert, Ann Straight and Geneieve Johnson; brothers, Burnett, Arne, Kenneth and Darrell Johnson.Ms. Smith is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and John Harney of Murfreesboro, Pam and David Tant of Ashland City, and Penny and Gary Casteel of Ashland City; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister Grace Dvorak of Welm, Wash.; three sisters-in-law Marilyn Johnson of Twin Valley, Minn.; Marguerite Johnson of Morehead, Minn., and Virginia Smith of Murfreesboro; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at High’s Chapel with Lanny Johnson officiating.
