Lewis Edward Haas, 68, of Rock Island died Saturday, June 1, at his home in Rock Island after an extended illness.He was born Oct. 13, 1944 in Miami, Fla., to John Edward Haas and Nettie Carver Haas of Georgia. He was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran.He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Beck of South CarolinaSurvivors include wife Susan Haas of Rock Island; children Tracy Grogan of Rock Island, and Jackie Edward Haas of Alabama, sister Virginia Hallman of South Carolina; six grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and loved ones.At the family’s request, funeral services will be private.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
