McMinnville resident and Warren County native Lester Bennett Scott Jr., 80, was born Oct. 1, 1932 and died Feb. 21 at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga following a vehicle accident Dec. 31, 2012.Retired from the propane gas industry, a United States Army veteran of Korea, and a member of Philadelphia the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Lester Bennett and Thelma Killian Scott Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Bo Lynn McCormick; and brother, Robert Boyce Scott.He was married Sept. 16, 1978 to Bettye Cunningham Scott of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children and their spouses, Jason and Lesa Scott, Tyler Scott, Telisa McCormick and Niki Woodlee, all of McMinnville, Lori and Joe Nunley of Bowling Green, Ky., and Jennifer Ford of Smithville; nine grandchildren, Beth Nunley, Ty Nunley, Mitch Nunley, Cody Fults, Jordan McCormick, Blathen Woodlee, Landon Scott, Brayden Scott, and Brynn Woodlee; three great-grandchildren, Skylar Fults, Allie Nunley and Aiden Nunley; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Johnny Bohr of Beersheba Springs, and Joyce and Price Scott of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.A graveside and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Shiloh Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
