Lela Pearl Scott Wood, 90, of Walling died Aug. 9 at NHC of McMinnville surrounded by her family.She was born in White County June 4, 1925, the daughter of Natty Scott and Nancy Ellen Bowdoin Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jessie Thurman Wood, brothers, Willie Scott, Roy Scott, Cordell Scott, Estell Ray Scott, and Earl Scott, as well as sisters, Irene Smith and Maggie Ovalee Wiser.Survivors include her children, Richard Wood and wife Joanna of Cookeville, Dennis Wood and wife Peggy of Walling, Loyd Wood and wife Anita of Rock Island, Lois Colwell of McMinnville, and Marlene Pelham and husband Tim of McMinnville, as well as sister Loureen Campbell of North Carolina. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
