Mrs. Leah Ellis Johnson, 96, of Gallatin, previously of McMinnville, passed away on Wednesday, March 25. 

She was born March 11, 1924 in White County to the late Charlie and Ina Ellis. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 ½ years, Layron “W.L.” Johnson. Leah was a member of Friendship The Baptist Church and worked as a secretary at Eastside Elementary. Her family was her first love and she also loved gardening, flowers, cooking, crocheting, and quilting. 

She is survived by her four daughters and son Carol (Tom) Moore of Hendersonville, Diana (John) Doss of Nashville, Charlene (Don) Kennedy of Madison, MS., Judy Elliott of Gallatin, and Terry Johnson of Gallatin, and four grandchildren David, Beth, Brooke, and Chris and six great-grandchildren. 

Graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Mountain View Cemetery. Due to current state gathering restrictions, the service and burial is required to be private with only immediate family. There will be no public visitation held at the funeral home.
