Landy Paul “Bear” Matney, 35, a Winchester resident and Warren County native, was born Dec. 31, 1976 and died Nov. 20.
He was a construction worker and member of First Assembly of God Church. He was married June 18, 2007 to Lonna Sue Hale Matney who survives. He was the son of Sharon Lanita Grissom Walling of Bone Cave, and Sidney Paul Matney of McMinnville. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Landy and Shirley Grissom.
He is survived by children, Ramsey Mikkael Hale, Liam Landy Paul Matney and Sydney Lorrabelle Matney, all of Winchester, stepfather, Tom Walling of Bone Cave, stepmother, Joyce Matney of McMinnville, paternal grandparents, Sue and Richard Hull of Winchester, sister, Amy Gail (Ronnie) Simmons of McMinnville, step-brothers and step-sisters, Kerie (Joel) Womack of Rock Island, Josh (Nikki) Walling of Bone Cave, Mark Morton, Jennifer Walling, Brent (Khristina) Walling and Mandi (Shane) Snyder, all of McMinnville, special cousins, Chris Cowan, Marty Cowan, Jeni Hardy, Ricky Tipps and Billy Matney.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at High’s Chapel with Winston Tipps and Chris Cowan officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
