Katy Rhea Tomlin, 84, of Smithville died Wednesday, June 15, at DeKalb Community Hospital after an extended illness.She was a member of Gath Missionary Baptist and a homemaker. She was born in Smithville on Dec. 19,1926, the daughter of the late Hobart J. and Pauline (Cantrell) Stewart.She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne McGee Tomlin; one son, Terry Wayne Tomlin; one daughter, Kathy Paulette Tomlin Ripley; one sister, Betty Ruth Stewart Maxwell.She is survived by three daughters, Susan Boren of Smithville, Ronda Rayl of Smithville, Melissa and husband Shawn Perkins of McMinnville; two sisters, Mattie Sue Vaughn of Smithville, Florence Keeton of McMinnville; three brothers, George Stewart, Paul Stewart, and Sid Stewart, all of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, Tina Ripley, Terry Tomlin II, Mary Kate Rayl, Candace Marie Hayes, Kari Jean Rayl, Abraham Stewart Perkins and Ezekiel Lennon Perkins; four great-grandchildren, Allissa Tomlin, Marshall Gill, Jeffery Gill and Hayden Gill.Funeral service will be held at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. today with Ray Gilder officiating. Interment will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens in Smithville.
