McMinnville resident and Bessemer, Ala., native Kathy Diane Holland, 58, was born Jan. 1, 1955 and died April 6 at her residence following an extended illness.A maitre d’ and dining room manager with Vestavia Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., and member of the Baptist church, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Hugh and Dora Earline Anderson Bigbee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson Brian Anthony Nelson; brother Roger Rutland and father-in-law George “Pop” Holland.Mrs. Holland is survived by four daughters, Eugenia Nelson, Dana Holland (Crystal Scurlock), Tammy Reid Holland and Jackie Hawkins, all of McMinnville; former husband and friend, Jackie Holland of McMinnville; two sons, Bud (Brittany) Holland and Chris Holland, both of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Eric Nelson and Shealia Nelson, both of McMinnville; great-grandson, Christian Mitchell; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene (Jackie) Taylor of Alabama; two brothers, Billy (Charlene) Cook and Donald (Barbara) Bigbee, both of Texas; sister-in-law, Martha Rutland of Alabama; mother-in-law, Semone Monty Holland of McMinnville, and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at High’s Chapel.High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
