McMinnville resident and Warren County native J.W. “Willie” Mayes, 90, was born July 4, 1921 and died April 25 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness.A retired farmer and livestock dealer and member of Rockliff Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Oscar and Mary Pearson Mayes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Mayes; son, Jimmy Lynn Mayes; five sisters, Carrie Blanks, Edna Woodlee, Frances Bell, Charlene Smith and Lucille Blankenship and brother, George Mayes. He was married Dec. 20, 1947 to Bobbie Johnson Mayes of McMinnville.
