Crossville resident and Davidson County native June Lofton, 88, was born Feb. 3, 1934 and died Aug. 25 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness.
In addition to her family, she was an avid animal lover and enjoyed all things related to Christmas. She was a devoted homemaker and held a strong Christian faith.
Lofton was the daughter of the late Patrick Malcolm and Billie Jo Dale Woodard. She was married to the late James Frank Lofton on Aug. 1, 1953. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister Patsy Humphrey and nephew Eddie Cantrell, DDS.
Ms. Lofton is survived by daughter Terri (David) Adams of Oakland, Tenn., son Mike Lofton of Arizona, granddaughter Laura Adams of Martin, Tenn., nephew Dale (Gloria) Humphrey of McMinnville, niece Donna (John) Hammond of Fairview, Tenn., brother-in-law Bob Humphrey of Franklin, sister-in-law Jean Williams of Franklin, Tenn., and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville and Avalon Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
Per Ms. Lofton’s wishes she will be cremated. No service or visitation will be held.
