McMinnville resident and Warren County native Judy Capshaw, 63, was born May 27, 1955 and died May 2 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following a sudden illness.
An administrative assistant with Richard Dorris Attorney, a graduate of Warren County High School Class of 1973, and a member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Mitchell and Stella Mai Carmack Burks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace and Bruce Burks, and sister Jill Barnes.
She is survived by daughter, Amanda Carol Mills and Andrew Thornton of McMinnville; granddaughter, Mackenzie Layne Mills; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Sue Burks, Eddie and Betty Burks, Tim and Lisa Burks, and Rickey and Lisa Burks, all of McMinnville; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Nina and David Hicks of Manchester, Sue Johnson of Dickson, Teresa and Trent Campbell of McMinnville, and Linda and Steve McGregor of McMinnville; former husband, Kenneth Lyron Capshaw of McMinnville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at High’s Chapel with Rickey Burks officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation is Sunday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
