McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Juanita Martin Oliver, 96, was born July 12, 1924 and died Aug. 28 at her residence following a sudden illness.

A retired teacher with the Warren and Van Buren County School Systems and a member of East End Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late James Walter and Pearl Louise Hillis Martin. She was married on July 12, 1984 to Edward Brown Oliver, who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2010. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma Jean and Thurman Ward and Winona and Marion Ward, brother and sister-in-law James and Faye Martin Jr., niece Alice Christian, three nephews Gary, Murrell and Michael Ward, great-niece Mary Christian, and great-nephew Paul Ward.

She is survived by special nieces and nephews, Ricky and Brenda Henderson, Tommy and Linda Thompson, and Darrell and Jan Ward, all of McMinnville, several other nieces and nephews, special caretaker, Kathy Elrod, and lots of family and friends also survive.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Garland Robinson and Brian Reed officiating. There will be no visitation or service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
