Juanita June Hennessee Boyd, 88, of Rock Island died Saturday, July 11 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 21, 1927 in Walling and was the former owner of the local Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio, a homemaker, past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Rock Island Presbyterian Church where she also served as President of the local Presbyterian Women’s Group. Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by parents Cecil Elijah and Mary Lou Howell Grissom; first husband, John Raymond Hennessee; and a sister, Helen Frances Grissom Dunlap.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Boyd; her children, Johnny Glenn (Christine) Hennessee, Janice Ann Hennessee (Bill K.) Osburn, Tom Ray (Sabra) Hennessee, and Cecil Edward (Cathy) Hennessee; brother, Brownie Dean (Jane) Grissom; stepson, Robert Lee (Brenda) Boyd, Jr.; stepdaughter, Sharon Boyd, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Doug Dunlap will officiate. Interment will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 9 p.m. and again Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
