McMinnville resident and Warren County native Juanita Higginbotham Medley, 92, was born Sept. 12, 1920 and died March 29.A retired sales clerk and buyer for J.C. Penney and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Carrie Alice Dodson Johnson.She was married to Drury Higginbotham, who preceded her in death in 1979, and Charley Medley, who preceded her in death in 1996. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy Keith and Barbara Joyce Fuston; one son, Art “Butch” Higginbotham; one brother, Louis Johnson; and one sister, Margie Pearsall.She is survived by son-in-law, James G. Keith of McMinnville; four grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Anthony and Shawntay Simones of Columbia, Mo., Christopher Simones of Knoxville, John Derek and Jo Ann Simones of Greensboro, N.C., and Angie and Mitch Pryor of Murfreesboro; two great-grandchildren, Quinton Simones of North Carolina and Kendal Bengsch of Missouri; four step-grandchildren and their spouses, Vicki Higginbotham of Illinois, Christine Higginbotham of Missouri, Tony and Valorie Keith of Murfreesboro, and Tara and Michael Myers of McMinnville; three step-great-grandchildren, Maggie Keith, Brittany Myers and Gavin Myers; two stepsons, Tommy Higginbotham of Peoria, Ill., and Chuck Medley of McMinnville; one stepdaughter, Jill Basham of McMinnville; and one niece and one nephew.Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at High’s Chapel with Eben Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery.
