Josephine Pennington, 89, an Algood resident and Warren County native died July 14 at the Masters Health Care Center in Algood following an extended illness.
She was owner of Pennington Sanitation and Pennington Farm and Nursery, member of East End Church of Christ and daughter of the late James McKinley and Ruth Cantrell Prater.
She was married to Clyde Alley Pennington, Sr. who preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Jo Mac and Clyde A. Pennington, Jr. and brother, Commer L. Prater.
Mrs. Pennington is survived by son, Wendell (Ramona) Pennington of Cookeville; daughter-in-law, Glenda Pennington of Manchester; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and interment will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 18 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Kevin Key to officiate. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday at High Funeral Home. Instead of flowers, surprise a family member or friend with a visit and while you are visiting think of Jo.
