Joseph Thomas Porter, Jr., 87, a McMinnville resident and Colfax, Calif., native died June 22 at Riverview Terrace in McMinnville following a short illness. He was a retired teacher at Faulkner Springs Christian School, member of McMinnville Seventh-day Adventist Church and son of the late Joseph Thomas and Mae Wheeler Porter, Sr. He was married Sept. 15, 1949 to Ruth Elizabeth Benton Porter who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Michael (Karen) Porter of Laurel, MD, Greg (Mary Kay) Porter, Olney, MD and Steve (LeAnne) Porter of Hoover, Ala.; five grandchildren, Summer Elizabeth Porter-Burke, Andrew Michael Porter, Brooke Jean Colburn, Sarah Michelle Porter and Amber Dawn Baker and eight great-grandchildren.
