Joseph “Joey” Scott Barnes of Smithville died Friday at his residence.He was a member of New Union the Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Davis Barnes Sr. Survivors include his son, Colby Davis Barnes; mother Billie Ann Baker and husband Glenn; brothers, Johnny Wayne Barnes and wife Abbie, all of Smithville; Johnny Davis Barnes Jr. and wife Shelly of Alexandria, sister Shanta Jones of Carthage, nieces Ripley Anne Barnes of Alexandria, Kalee Castro and nephew Dylan Castro, both of Carthage. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.The funeral was held Monday at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.
